You've probably heard that the whole village respects our Petre for his intelligence and ingenuity. But it happened, however, that three of our peasants became jealous of such honor. They wanted to cast at least a small shadow on the glorious name, and they decided to deceive the cunning Petre.
Every year an autumn fair opened in a neighboring village. They also sold livestock there.
Petre had a cow for sale - a good dairy cow. Petra took her to the fair, and envious people were coming towards him - they deliberately returned early - and they were not walking together, but at a distance from one another.
At first Petra met one envious person. He greeted and asked:
“Where are you taking the little cow, Petre?”
Petre, not seeing the catch, answered directly:
- To the fair, brother!
And the envious man:
- Look, what a good cow! Beautiful, well-fed. And if she had no tail, you would have made a lot of money! Nowadays, father, there is a demand for tailless animals.
He believed Petra, immediately cut off the cow’s tail and moved on.
Then a second envious man met him and lied that there was a demand for hornless cows at the fair. Well, the third one advised cutting off the cow’s ears. And poor Petre brought a miracle cow to the fair: although well-fed, she was unimaginably ugly. A crowd has gathered around, everyone likes the cow, but when they look at her face and come up behind her, they shy away - the cattle is very scary!
Unlucky Petra had to take his good dairy cow to the slaughterhouse.
Well, what do you think? Will Petra forgive the deceivers? Never! He has already begun to figure out how to take revenge on the envious people for their evil trick!
