They lived in the tundra Kukylin with his wife named Mitya. They had three children. Kukylin hunted partridges and brought home a lot of them. So they constantly ate partridges. But one day I didn’t get any partridges, and the children at home ate all the supplies. Kukylin pretended to be sick and pretended to die. His wife Mitya and children began to mourn Kukylin, and then they carried him to the tundra and buried him. And when Mitya and the children went home, Kukylin got up, got dressed, and built himself a yaranga. After that I went to hunt for partridges. I got partridges and stored a lot of fat. Made a delicious pate from meat and fat. While eating the pate, he began to sing:

- Uh-huh, uh-huh. Ugh-ah, uh-huh!

And his wife Mitya feeds the children the last partridges. There are very few supplies left. Meanwhile, Kukylin makes a pate from fat and meat, repeating:

- Uga-a-a, uga-a-a, Uga-a-a, uga-a-a!

One day a partridge flew into Mitya’s yaranga through an opening and said:

“Kukylin didn’t die, but there, in the tundra, he hunts partridges and makes pate.” Here, Mitya, take my skin, put it on and go there. Along the way you will see a yaranga. This is Kukylina yaranga.

Mitya dressed herself in a partridge skin and went. On the way I met a yaranga. Approaching the yaranga, she entered it. And Kukylin was sitting and eating at that time, it turns out. Mitya said in a partridge voice:

-Are you alive? You need to tell your wife about this. Kukylin felt ashamed. After that, Mitya went home. When she arrived, she took off the skin and gave it to the partridge. She quickly put on her skin and flew away. Kukylin returned home. Mitya, seeing him, said:

- Who are you? After all, Kukylin died!

Kukylin said:

- No, I didn’t die. Run quickly after the partridges, I caught a lot of them.

After that, he began to caress the children and never left them.
