Zhiva sat on Khvangur Mountain. A goddess served him
Alive. Next to Siva and Zhiva there was a well with living water. And from this well fire shot from earth to heaven.
Zhiva serves God Siwa, she has a golden cup in her hand. Zhiva gives him the cup, and Siwa drinks, and Suryun splashes the valleys and onto the fields. Where the drops of Surya fall, the stems rise in the field. Siwa once said while sitting on Hwangura:
- On Survak day I will go down to earth and see how people serve me in Constantinople.
And Siva descended to earth, flew over Constantinople and saw that the temples were again empty, and again they were donating to him not surju, but simple water. Siva became angry and sent the smoke-snake Severe Lamia to Constantinople). Lamia began to trample the fields and eat the cattle that people brought to her. The cattle ran out, Lamia began to demand that people be brought to her to eat.
People cast lots among themselves, and it fell on the daughter of the Tsar of Constantinople, the young princess Yarina. They chained Yarina outside the city near the seashore and left her. And Yarina prayed to the Almighty, and then to Veles and his son Yarila. And the gods heard the prayer. And Yarila jumped on a white-maned horse, and arrived under the walls of Constantinople, and saw the beautiful Yarina by the shore. And at this time Lamia flew over Constantinople and shouted:
- I will destroy the city today! You have done something wrong to Siva!
Lamia flew to the seashore and saw Yarina chained, and next to him was the god Yarila. And then Yarila fought with the Snake and defeated her.
The Song of Siva and Yaril is a consolidated list compiled from the songs about Siva and Gyurgia in Verkovich’s Vedas of the Slavs. George (Gyurgiy) - may also be a pre-Christian - Greek name for Yarila, for George in Greek means “farmer”. In Greek myths there is Lamia, the lover of Zeus (aka Siv, Ziv), who was turned into a dog-headed snake by jealous Hera. The plot of the legend about Yar is also known in Rus' (the song about St. Yegor). The Snake Smoke is also commemorated in Belarus (see “Belarusian collection of E. Romanov, issue 2, Kyiv, 1885, p. 369); “For a long time there were such people, no matter what they believed. Yes, they believed the damned tsmok. They gave a quitrent per person per day. Like fathers of tsmok and three cities, and three kingdoms... Like where did Saint Yagori come from..."
Yarila, as the son of Veles, and therefore the grandson of the Sun, is himself a solar god. But he, like Veles himself, also has the features of a lunar god. He was revered as a lunar god in Atlantis. But already in Constantinople of St. George, where the Atlalt-Hattians and Aryan Hittites lived, as well as in Ancient Egypt, the features of the Sun God began to appear in him. In Egypt, Yara, or Yah, was identified with Osiris (the Egyptian word "yah" means "moon"). The Egyptians buried the doll of Yah-Osiris, just as the Slavs “buried Yarila.” Holes were made in the sarcophagus of Osiris, through which ears of corn grew in the spring, which meant the resurrection of Yah. In Greece, Yah was called Arom-Ares (to the Romans - Mars) and was revered as the god of war and the god of fertility and wild nature. Landowners turned to him with a request to give fertility to their fields, health to their families and livestock. The Romans dedicated the first month of spring - March - to Mars. Likewise, the Slavs revered Yar as the god of spring flowering and wild nature. Wild animals, nature spirits and all lower deities obeyed him. “Yar-god rules the spring flowering and the mermaids with the watermen and woodsmen, and the brownies” (“Book of Veles”, Rod 2:7). The Slavs dedicated the first month of spring to Yarilo - Beloyar, through the Etruscans it passed to the Romans and became March. And this connection with spring, when nature wakes up, when the Sun begins to warm up more and more, returned Yar to the ancient features of the solar god.
Already in the late period of the developed Egyptian civilization, Yah-Osiris began to have two lunar hypostases - Yah itself (translated from Egyptian as “Moon”), as well as a solar hypostasis, which was called Osiris-Ra. The Egyptians also identified Yah-Osiris with the constellations Orion and Eridanus, which at that time, at the onset of the new agricultural year (in March), passed through the prime meridian (direction to the North). According to the Slavic tradition, the constellations of Orion and Eridanus represent a single constellation of Yarila, who fights with the snake of the god Siwa Lamia. I note that Christians replaced Yar with Saint Yuri, or Yegory. And songs about him began to be sung during the celebrations of the ancient Yarilin days (in autumn and spring). The constellation Orion is located on the border of the constellations Gemini and Taurus. Orion is adjacent to the constellation Taurus, or the Bull, Tour. Therefore, Tur was the sacred animal of Yarila. Tour in Rus' has always been a symbol of rage, strength and courage. Buy-Tur - that’s what the Russians called great warriors.
The Egyptians also considered the bull Apis - the Golden Calf - the sacred animal of Osiris. The Bible contains a story about how the Jews worshiped Yar-Yahweh, seeing him in the form of the sun. Golden Taurus Apis. Therefore, when Moses received the covenant from Yahweh on Mount Sinai, the Jews brought all their gold to Moses’ brother Aaron (in whose name we see no accidental consonance with the name of Ara-Yara-Yah), so that he would melt down the Golden Calf - And this was a sacrifice to Yahweh-Apis himself. But Moses, having learned about this, became angry, for he was carrying out a religious reform, the essence of which was the transition from the solar cult of Yah-Apis to the lunar cult of Yahweh.
Other peoples worshiped the solar face of Yaha-Yarila. At the time when Moses received the Covenant, in the middle of the 2nd millennium BC, the era of Taurus (Lada) ended and the era of Aries (Beloyar) began. The constellation Perseus, bordering the constellations Taurus and Aries, began to pass through the initial stellar meridian.
Perseus in the Slavic Vedic tradition is the son of Dazhbog Aryan. Iranian Persians also descend from Arius. And therefore, in the spiritual vision of the Slavic Magi, the god Yar, or Yari, began to merge with Arius-Yariy. The Magi said that the baby Arius, like Yar, was brought by the god Veles at the behest of Dazhbog.
But Arius is the son of the king of the Sun, Dazhbog. He stands at the feet of the constellation representing the crucified Dazhbog (the Greeks mistook this constellation for the crucified Ariadne). That’s why Yarila began to merge with Ariy and with Dazhbog himself, and then with Khors. He began to appear as a warrior rider on a white horse, defeating the snake Lamia). All lunar features of Yar were rejected by the Slavs, the sons of Arius and the grandchildren of Dazhbog. And therefore Yarila became the god of the Sun - In the spring, Yarila is the solar god, the god of agriculture, the first plowing, awakening life. In winter he is Frost (Mars), he destroys what he gave birth to in the spring.
Yarylo crawled around the whole retinue, the field zhyto radziv, dzetsi pladiv people. And where he is naked, there is life with a hood, and where he is on the grain, there is an ear of yats vice... Belarusian springfly. (Podolsk provincial gazette, 1895, No. 26)
