Once upon a time Shudukai lived and had five daughters.

One day Shudukai prepared delicious porridge. I was just thinking about putting the porridge on plates, but I saw that there weren’t enough spoons.

She went into the forest to cut down a tree and carve spoons from it, and met a wolf.

- Hello, Shudukai! Where are you going? - asked the wolf.

“I’m going to the forest,” Shudukai answered and walked on. And the wolf ran to Shudukai’s house and shouted:

- Girls, open the door to your mother Shudukai!

- We won’t open, we won’t open. Our mother doesn't have that kind of voice. Her voice is thin and pleasant. And you, enemy, get away!

A little later the wolf squeaked in a thin voice:

- Girls, girls, open the door to your mother Shudukai!

The girls opened the door, and the wolf burst into the house and caused a terrible pogrom. He hid one daughter in the ashes, another in a chest, hung a third from the ceiling, and swallowed the two youngest ones. Then he licked all the jugs with oil, honey and urbe to the bottom, ate porridge and ran away into the forest.

Shudukai returned home and couldn’t believe her eyes.

-Who was here? Where are you, daughters? Respond! - she wailed.

“It was the wolf who did everything, the damned one, he swallowed our sisters too,” answered the girls, half dead from fear.

Shudukai began to cry and burst into bitter tears. A fox came running to her cry.

- What's wrong with you, Shudukai? Why are you crying? After listening to Shudukai, the fox said:

- Don't cry! It’s easy to help your grief. Just make me some tastier porridge.

The fox went into the forest and saw a wolf lying under a tree and resting. Lisa tells him:

“I see, brother, you had a hearty lunch.” Now it would be nice to ride down the mountain.

The wolf refused for a long time, but the cheat persuaded him. On the way, the fox grabbed a jug of water. They reached a high mountain and began to ride.

When the wolf moved down the mountain, the fox poured out the water and the wolf's tail froze.

- Wow, fox! What are you doing! - the wolf shouted, twitched, but could not free himself.

Shudukai and her daughters came running at the noise. They took sticks and beat the wolf until the smallest girl came out of one nostril, and her sister came out of the other.

The wolf howled on the ice all night, and the fox feasted all night at Shudukai's house.
