One young “seeker of truth” found himself at the gates of a Sufi school. He turned to the watchman, a gray-haired old man sitting nearby in the shade of the trees.
“I believe,” began the young philosopher, “that only a few of us know how many true seekers of truth there are in this world.”
“Oh, I’ve been sitting here for half a century,” said the old man, “and I can tell you something about this.”
- Really? — the young man became interested. - And how many are there?
“There are exactly one less of them than you think.”
