In ancient times, there lived a woman named Saredadi, which means “Deprived at Birth.” One day, all her fellow villagers went to the sanctuary to make sacrifices to the gods. Saredadi took the seasoned rice, wrapped it in a palm leaf and also followed the others.
On the way she met a rich man. He asked Saredadi:
-Where are you going?
Saredadi replied:
“I’m going to pray to the gods and sacrifice this rice to them.”
The rich man laughed:
“You’re dirty, the gods won’t want to eat your rice!”
“I’ll still go,” Saredadi said. “Maybe the poor god will want to eat my rice.”
But the rich man did not let Saredadi in:
- Don't go! Go home! There's nothing for you to do there.
Saredadi cried and went home. She walks, and two gods meet her. They ask her:
– Why are you crying so bitterly, Saredadi?
“I went to make a sacrifice to the gods, but the rich man did not let me in,” says the woman. “He said that God would not eat my rice and even man would not want to touch it.”
Then the gods said:
- Give us your rice.
– Do you really want to eat my rice? They scolded him so much!
- Come here, we'll eat it! - the gods repeated.
Saredadi served them rice, and the gods ate it. Potomoni asked Saredadi if she had her own savakh.
Saredadi replied:
– I don’t have a field. I plant rice in the puddle where the buffaloes were lying.
“Show us where this puddle is,” said the gods.
Saredadi showed. The gods approached the puddle and said:
- Harvest the rice, place your sheaf on the pemateng and come back for it only after three days.
Time passed, Saredadi squeezed the rice and placed the sheaf on the pemateng. Three days later, as was said, she went to see what had become of her sheaf. She was surprised to see huge piles of rice! She took the rice home and stored it in the granaries. She had so much rice that it couldn’t even fit into three barns. Every day Saredadi sold rice, and more of it was added to her barns.
And the rich man who offended him then went bankrupt and began to live worse than everyone else.
