A certain peasant was having breakfast for himself, not thinking about anything. And suddenly a piece of bread, which he had just buttered, fell to the floor.
Imagine his surprise when he saw that the sandwich lay butter side up! The peasant thought that he had witnessed a miracle, and immediately hurried to tell his friends about it. They were also surprised, because they knew that the sandwich always falls butter side down, dirtying the floor.
“Maybe you’re a saint who received a sign from God,” one of them suggested.
The news quickly spread around the small village, and everyone was animatedly discussing the incident: how did this sandwich, contrary to the established rule, fall butter side up? Since no one knew the answer, they decided to turn to the Teacher who lived nearby for help.
The teacher spent the whole night in prayer and meditation and asked the Lord to inspire him with an answer. The next morning, the impatient residents of the village heard from him:
