Once Nasreddin loaded his donkey with bales of salt and took the salt to the market. At one point they had to cross a river. When they got to the opposite bank, the donkey began to run in circles, rejoicing that the load had become lighter. Nasreddin was very angry.
On the next market day, he loaded the animal with bales of cotton. While crossing the river, the donkey almost drowned - wet cotton becomes very heavy.
- Like this! - Nasreddin exclaimed jubilantly. “This will teach you to remember: you don’t win every time you go through water!”
