He spent all his strength on the root.
Everyone laughed at him, since he had neither flowers, beautiful and large, nor great height.
“Laurel! why are you wasting your energy on that root, look at us. Everyone praises us for our huge foliage, for our huge fragrant flowers, for our height.”
And the laurel answered:
“I would rather spend my strength on the root: I will grow and give my leaves to everyone in need.”
But still, everyone continued to laugh at him.
One day a strong wind came and all those trees fell due to weak roots.
And the laurel remained safe and sound, only losing a couple of leaves.
And then everyone realized that in difficult moments it is not our appearance and appearance that holds us, but what is hidden in our root, in the heart... there... in the soul...
