Once upon a time there lived a rooster. And a cat often ran into the house. He will sneak unnoticed into the kitchen, grab the prey - and leave. The rooster sees the cat and crows. People will come running and drive her away. The cat got angry at the rooster and once almost killed him, but the crowing saved his life.
Once a rooster was wandering around the yard, pecking at some grains, and suddenly he saw this cat coming towards him. The rooster ran away, and the cat said to him, so kindly:
- Brother cockerel! Why are you afraid of me? I won't do anything bad to you.
The rooster believed the cat's words and stayed - he became interested in what would happen next. And the cat, seeing that her words had an effect, continues:
- Let's make friends with you. Don’t crow when I appear in the kitchen, and in return I will treat you to something tasty. I will share everything I get with you in half.
The rooster silently listened to the cat, thought and decided that perhaps it was worth being friends with her.
And the cat began to fearlessly enter the kitchen, drink milk, and eat curdled milk. He will eat his fill and take the leftovers to the rooster. That's how their friendship continued.
One day, the housewife left a full pot of sour cream in the kitchen. The cat saw this and said to the rooster:
– In a few days the Visakha holiday will come, we need to make some supplies. If you help me, we will hide this pot of sour cream in a place where no one will see it. And the holiday will come, and then you and I will feast!
The rooster liked this idea. He grabbed the pot from one side with his beak, and the cat grabbed it from the other. They took the pot into the outbuilding, hid it under the stove and quietly ran away.
But the cat soon returned. At the sight of the pot of sour cream, her mouth watered. And she thought: “If I eat a little, the rooster still won’t know.” The sour cream turned out to be extremely tasty. The cat lowered its face into the pot several times. With great difficulty she tore herself away from the treat and went home. But the thought of sour cream did not leave her, and during the day she ran to the annex three times. The same thing happened the next day. She did not calm down until she had cleaned the entire pot.
But then the holiday came. Delicious dishes were prepared in the houses, the smell of fried meat tickled the cat's nostrils, but she had no hope of getting even a piece. She thought, and said to the rooster:
- Today is a holiday. Let's go have some fun and eat some sour cream!
The rooster followed her into the outbuilding. The cat pulled out the potty! looked inside and said:
- Oh, what do I see! It was you who ate all the sour cream - you betrayed our friendship!
- Yes, this is the first time I’ve come here since then! That's right, you did it!
The cat became furious.
- Oh, you thief! Oh you cunning one! - shouts. “There is no place on earth for treacherous people like you!” - And she rushed at the rooster.
The rooster crowed loudly. But the cat twisted his neck and began to feast on the cockerel.
