Nasreddin decided to take a bath in the Turkish baths. Since he was dressed in rags, the bath attendants gave him an old basin and a bar of soap. When leaving, Nasreddin handed a gold coin to the astonished bathhouse attendants.
The next day, the magnificently dressed Nasreddin again appeared in the bathhouse, where he was, of course, given the best reception. After bathing, he gave the bath attendants the smallest coin and said:
- This is for last time, but you received the gold for today.
