In the old days, there lived a poor old man with a beautiful daughter. Next door to him lived another old man who was very rich, and he had a stupid son. The poor man, wanting to become related to the rich man, forcibly married his daughter to this stupid guy.
The daughter soon hated her husband, but could not divorce him - the laws were so cruel in those days. Therefore, she decided to come up with something to prove to people the stupidity of her husband, so that this stupidity could serve as a reason for divorce. Her father was a good hunter and, imitating him, his stupid son-in-law also hunted - he set snares for hares and fish, but could not catch anything.
One day, a wife attached a crucian carp to her husband’s snare, and stuck a dead hare into the snare. Her stupid husband thought that he had actually caught it. He stuck out his tongue in delight and ran home shouting:
- I caught a hare in the net, and a crucian carp in the snare! Just at this time, a meeting of nasleg residents was taking place in their house. This young woman told those present about her husband's stupid prank and asked them to be witnesses that he said these stupid words. She said:
- That’s how stupid my husband is - after all, he is sure that he caught the crucian carp by force, and the hare by the top. My father and mother forcibly gave me away to such a fool, so now I have to divorce him.
People became convinced of her husband's stupidity and helped her divorce him. Thus, the poor man's daughter, thanks to her resourcefulness, managed to divorce her hated husband.
