One day, a donkey got lost in the bushes and unexpectedly met a wolf. The donkey trembled, began to bray and wag its tail.
- Tell me before you die, why, when you saw me, you began to tremble, roar and wag your tail? - asked the wolf.
“I tremble with fear, I roar to hide my fear, and I wave my tail to pity you,” answered the donkey.
- This is not true! — the wolf got angry. “I heard the roar before you saw me.”
“I called the donkey and the colt with a roar,” explained the resourceful donkey.
“Keep roaring,” the wolf ordered and thought that instead of one donkey he would kill three at once, including a donkey, which, as you know, has tender and tasty meat.
The owner was nearby, looking for the missing donkey. Hearing the roar, he ran and drove the wolf away.
