Sufi parable from Sanaya Sultan Masud was very angry with his wazir Abul-Hasan Maimandi when he was informed that he had committed a huge embezzlement. For this, the Sultan removed him and imposed a fine of one million dirhams on him.
But this was not enough for the wazir’s enemies, they continued their denunciations, and, in the end, according to their slander, Maimandi was executed.
After him, an old mother remained, and one day a malicious person said to the Sultan:
“You know, this old woman constantly prays to God that some misfortune befalls you.” You need to do something about her!
The Sultan secretly went to the old woman, apologized to her, said that he repented of his thoughtless, cruel act, and asked her not to curse him.
After listening to the Sultan, the old woman gave him a completely unexpected answer:
- O king of the world! Don't apologize to me for what you did. How can I read evil prayers, God forbid! How can I curse, God forbid! “- she said and explained: “After all, the late emir, your father, gave my son earthly riches, and you also gave him a future life, which is due to a martyr’s death as a reward from God.” Can I curse you for this? Reproaches, sorrow and torment are inappropriate here! Don't worry, I forgave you!
