Once upon a time there lived a husband and wife. They were very poor. They only had one chicken, but it was such a fighter that if you came in from the front, it would hit you with its beak, and if you came from behind, it would hit you with its paws. The headman ordered them to slaughter this chicken, but they felt sorry for slaughtering it. They locked her in the closet, closed the windows and forgot about her.
The husband once remembered about the chicken and said: “Wife, let’s go and see what happened to the chicken?” “Okay,” says the wife, “let’s go and see.”
They went to the pantry and saw that it was all filled to the brim with eggs. They took these eggs, harnessed the oxen, put the eggs on a cart, and sat on top. The eggshells began to burst, and the cockerels began to emerge from the eggs to the right, and the hens to the left. Suddenly a goose jumped out of one of the eggs. He jumped out and ran. The owner chased after him, but another man caught him and forced him to thresh. This man took it and gave the owner two bags of grain in addition to the goose. He loaded the bags onto the goose’s back and drove him home.
At home he sees that the bags have rubbed the goose’s back. One doctor told him: “Anoint the goose with nut oil, the wound will heal.” The owner walked and walked, but could not find any nuts. In the end I met an old woman. “Listen, mother,” she said, “give me some nuts, I need to cure a goose.” “When I was a child,” says the old woman, “my father brought nuts from India.” We ate all the nuts, and one rolled under the ottoman. Give me a stick, I'll fumble.
The husband and wife took the tree up by the roots, gave it to the old woman, and she rolled the nut out from under the ottoman. They crushed this nut, smeared the goose's back, and a month later a nut tree grew on its back. When the goose was grazing in the meadow, the shepherds and the guys threw clods of earth, stones and sticks at it to knock down the nuts. All this got stuck between the branches, and in its branches there became a green meadow. People climbed a tree, plowed a meadow, sowed wheat and rye, and shepherds began to graze bulls, sheep and lambs there. Once a man picked a watermelon in this garden, wanted to cut it, but his knife got stuck in the watermelon, the knife got stuck and fell through. This man undressed and climbed into the watermelon. He wandered there for a long time, but could not find the knife. Suddenly he sees a shepherd walking with a club on his shoulder.
“Hey, brother,” the shepherd asks, “what kind of person are you, what are you doing in the watermelon?” “My knife fell here,” he says, “I’m looking, maybe I’ll find it.” “Eh, you’re in vain,” says the shepherd. “For exactly two years now, I’ve lost a whole flock of sheep here.” I'm already tired of looking, and you say - a knife!
The owner of the knife did not like these words, and he hit the shepherd. And the shepherd hit him with a club, and such a fight began that the watermelon fell to the ground, and a hare jumped out of it, spat out a piece of paper, and on it was written: “All this is real nonsense.”
