Rabbit and Coyote

One day, the sly Rabbit asked the stupid Coyote to prop up a rock with his upper paws and hold it while he ran for a stick. Otherwise the sky will fall on them!

The naive Coyote held the cliff until the evening and only in the evening, without waiting for the sly one, he let him go. Meanwhile, the Rabbit sat on the shore of the lake and watched the reflection of the moon in its dark waters.

Seeing that he had been deceived, the sly man began to greedily drink water from the lake.

- What are you doing, brother? - asked Coyote.

“Look, brother, there is a lot of delicious food here at the bottom of the lake,” answered the Rabbit.

- What food? - Coyote was surprised

“Yes, there she is,” the sly man pointed to the reflection of the moon.

“I see,” answered Coyote. - But what kind of food is this?

— There, in the water, there is a head of delicious cheese floating. If we drink all the water, then we will take it and enjoy it to our heart's content. Drink, brother! It won’t be difficult for you, such a big beast!

“Okay, brother,” answered stupid Coyote and began to quickly lap.

“I’ve already drunk my share,” said the sly man. – While you drink, I’ll go for a walk.

And Coyote continued to drink water. He was so carried away that he did not notice how the Rabbit left. Oh, how his stomach hurt. Realizing that he could not drink any more, the fool crawled away from the water, regretting the cheese still lying at the bottom of the lake.
