Poor appetite

Poor appetite

A traveler approached the poor hut of a peasant. When lunch time arrived, the peasant went into the hut, brought four flatbreads and placed them in front of the traveler. He himself hurried back to bring him some lentil stew.

When the peasant returned with the stew, the traveler had already swallowed all the cakes. The peasant hurried back to his hut and brought four more flatbreads. Returning, he saw that the traveler had eaten all the stew. The peasant went again for some stew. When I returned, there were no flatbreads. So the peasant went home ten times: he would only bring one thing, and in the meantime the traveler would have finished with the other.

The peasant sat down next to the traveler and asked:

“Tell me, young man, where are you going?”

“I heard,” the traveler answers, “a skilled doctor lives not far from here, I want to show myself to him.”

-What kind of illness do you have? - the peasant asked curiously. - Why did you need to go to the doctor?

“I have a bad appetite,” the young man admitted. “Maybe he’ll give me some medicine to give me an appetite.”

“Well, that’s good,” the peasant smiled. - Just fulfill my request.

- Certainly! What do you want? - asked the traveler.

- When you are cured, don’t go back this way, go another.
