Once upon a time, long ago, there lived a poor old man. This old man had an only son. Before his death, the old man ordered his son not to cross to the other side of the southwestern mountain.
Many years have passed since then. One day a guy was hunting, he crossed that mountain and ended up on the other side. He looks and there is a small hut standing there. A guy entered it, and there was a lot of delicious food prepared on the table, everything was tidied up. The guy has eaten, sits, and is surprised.
The next day the food is prepared again. On the third day, the guy returned from hunting early, hid in the yard, waiting. Finally a very beautiful girl came and began to prepare food. The guy entered the hut, and they began to talk.
Although the girl was very frightened at first, after talking with the guy, she promised to become his wife.
They got married and moved to the same ulus. And there all the people began to admire that guy’s wife. As she goes to fetch water, every time she meets one lama. That lama fell in love with her very much. Arriving home, the wife told her husband that the lama had fallen in love with her and that he came to the river every day to meet her.
- Meet the lama. When you meet, talk to him kindly and sweetly,” the husband advised.
The next day the wife went to fetch water, spoke kindly to the lama and brought him home. The husband foresaw everything, so he disappeared from home. As soon as the lama took off all his clothes, there was a knock on the door and the angry owner appeared. The wife managed to hide the llama in a previously prepared chest with tar and lock it up.
The next day my husband got up early and said:
- I’ll go to the city and sell the bokholdoy (devil) that’s in the chest.
He harnessed the horse and placed the chest with the llama on the cart. He goes to the city on purpose along a bad road, through swamps and hummocks, over large stones and potholes. And the lama lies in the chest, barely alive, throwing it and throwing it in all directions.
“So death has come to me,” he says. The poor man reached the city and went to the market and began shouting loudly:
— I’m selling boholdoy! Buy Boholdoy! Buy it and look at it!
People are amazed because they have never seen a person selling boholdoy. One rich man heard this.
- What kind of miracles? “I’ll buy a boholdoy for five hundred rubles,” he said and pulled out five hundred rubles.
The poor man took the money, counted it and opened the chest. And the lama really looked like a bokholdoy, naked, covered in tar. He jumped out of the chest and rushed away. People look and say:
- Yes, this really is boholdoy.
The rich man was left with nothing, having given five hundred rubles.
So the poor man deceived both the rich man and the lama.
