One man, named Wurunna, caught two of these seven girls. And he forced them to live in his hut and sit with him by the fire. These sisters began to fade and waste away. But somehow they looked into the sky and saw their sisters there again, who were pointing them to a tall tree.
Those two girls ran up to the tree and began to beg him to help them get home. The tree took pity and began to grow quickly. It grew and grew and reached its top into the sky.
Both girls returned to their heavenly home, and again all seven sisters were together. True, the unfortunate captives were now not as bright as their sisters, but dull and pale. This is how the Pleiades constellation appeared.
The seven earthly youths of the Berai-Berai tribe, who loved them on earth, looked sadly at the seven heavenly stars. These young men felt bitter and lonely.
But the good tree helped them too. The young men rose to the sky and turned into the constellation Orion.
Every night they look at their beloved and listen to their quiet singing.
