They say that one married man had seven sons. They cried all day long and asked for food:
- Father, I’m hungry! Mom, I'm hungry!
To which the father replied:
- Oh, my children! I’ve been working all my life to feed you, but it’s still not enough for you! You are always hungry!
But the children cried so much that one day the mother could not stand it and angrily said:
- You're just gluttons!
“Mom, won’t you give us something to eat?” – asked one of the sons.
Angrily, the mother grabbed a piece of dried tapir meat and threw it to the children:
- Here you go, eat!
- Mom, but this is not enough for us! - the children shouted.
Then the elder brother took the meat and gave it to the younger ones.
- At least eat a little, brothers. There won’t be enough for everyone anyway.
The kids have eaten. And when there was nothing left of the meat, the elder brother said:
- That's it, brothers, let's fly to the sky and become stars!
All seven of them joined hands and began to sing and dance. So, dancing, they rose higher and higher into the sky.
The mother ran out of the house, saw her children rising into the air, and burst into tears:
- Sons! Where are you going? Look how much food I prepared for you!
- No need, mom! We don't need anything else! We fly to the sky, and there we will meet our uncle and also become stars.
Singing, dancing, circling in the air like birds, they rose higher and higher until they found themselves in the sky.
