Perun is the god of princes and warriors. He preserves the foundations of the state, maintains order in the Universe, and gives victory in battles.

According to ancient legend, Perun was given birth to Svarog and Mother Sva. He was born after Mother Swa ate Rod's Pike. When Perun was born, thunder roared, the earth shook and mountains collapsed.

Then thunder roared in the sky, then lightning flashed in the clouds, and the son of Svarog, Perun the Thunderer, was born like lightning! When Perun was still a baby, the Skipper-Beast came to the Russian Land.

It was not dust that was being sprayed in the field, It was not fogs rising from the sea, It was a herd of animals running out, It was a herd of animals, a snake. The fierce Skipper-beast was running ahead! “The Book of Kolyada”, V a

He buried Poruk in a deep cellar and took away his sisters: I live. Maren and Lelya. Perun spent three hundred years in a dungeon. And three hundred years later, the bird Mother Swa beat her wings and called the Svarozhichs. The Svarozhichi gathered and turned into magical birds: Veles - into the Sirin bird, Khors - into Alkonost, Stribog - into the Stratim bird.

They searched for Perun throughout the White World. They flew to the Skipper-beast and began to interrogate him. The skipper-beast wanted to deceive them, but he failed. With the help of the Storm-horse, the Svarozhichi found the dungeon where Perun was fast asleep.

To wake up Perun, he had to be washed with living water - Surya. And then the Svarozhichs asked the magic bird Gamayun:

- You fly, Gamayun, to the Riphean Mountains beyond the wide Eastern Sea! How in those mountain ranges of Ripeysky on the mountain on that Berezan you will find a well with Surya, which is entwined with intoxicating hops! Bring living water from the well!

And Gamayun brought living water, and the Svarozhichi washed Perun with it. And then they gave him honey Surya to drink. Perun stood up and straightened his shoulders. The Red Sun warmed him. The rain soaked his sugar lips. Perun grinned, straightened his golden mustache, bursting with heat, shook his silver beard and golden curls and said to the Svarozhichs:

“I’m going to the Skipper beast, I’ll repay him with my former friendship!”
