On the eve of Easter, a peasant once walked past the church to the market to sell chickens. Meeting him is a cunning guy who had nothing to celebrate Easter with, and he asks how much the chickens are. The peasant answered. The guy led the peasant to the church doors and said:
- Do you see the priest confessing to a woman? This is my master. I’ll go ask him if he’ll buy your chickens,” and I went to church.
Fits the butt.
“Father, my brother is waiting at the door.” Please, confess him. He brought you chickens. Please call him as soon as you release the woman. Now give a sign with your hand that you agree, otherwise he, poor fellow, has come from afar and cannot wait in vain.
The priest was delighted and waved his hand to the peasant in agreement. And the guy returned, took the chickens and disappeared.
The priest lets the woman go and calls the peasant. He comes up, the priest puts the epitrachelion on his head to read, as expected, first of all, a prayer. The peasant was surprised and asked:
-What are you doing, father?
“I want to confess to you, as your brother asked.”
- Which brother? This is your servant, not my brother. Pay me for the chickens!
The priest immediately understood what was going on and said to the peasant:
- He is not my servant at all. He laughed at me and at you. Strike it with thunder on Bright Sunday!
