Parable about the Moon

Parable about the Moon
Enlight

Night. Two people are standing on the street.

-Why are you smiling? - one asks the other.

- Yes, I’m admiring the Moon.

-What do you admire?

“The moon,” the man points his finger at the moon, but his interlocutor doesn’t even raise his head.

- Which Moon? he asks.

“Yes, here it is,” the man is surprised, “right in front of you, so yellow.”

- Yellow? Oh God! We need to tell someone!

Half an hour later a crowd gathers around the man.

“Teacher, tell us about the moon,” a delegate from the crowd timidly asks.

- What the hell is there to tell? - the man gets excited. - Raise your heads and see everything for yourself.

Someone, without taking his devoted eyes off the person, hastily writes in his notebook: You just have to raise your head and the Moon will open to your gaze, a yellow circle against the background of the black sky...”

- Why are you writing this? — the man asks warily.

- Someone must preserve the teaching for posterity, and if not me, then who?

- What the hell kind of teaching?! JUST LIFT YOUR HEAD!!!

“It’s not difficult to raise your head, it’s simple...” the newly minted evangelist begins to scribble again, but the man punches him in the chin from below and a yellow spot flashes before the writer’s eyes.

- What was that, Teacher?

- Moon.

- God, I saw the Moon. I saw the moon! Moon!!!

“He saw the Moon,” the crowd gets excited and begins to dance around the moon seer rubbing his chin.

- The man, meanwhile, gives up on the whole matter and walks away, admiring the full moon.

Two thousand years later, someone reads the lunar gospel and sighs heavily. “What’s the point,” he thinks. “In those days, the Teacher was nearby and could always hit you in the teeth at the right moment...”

Some, however, claim that one book is enough and that they see the Moon with their own eyes every night, but who can we trust in our time? Or maybe, in general, these are all fairy tales, I’ll tell you what...
