But no one could guess the wise riddles. Everyone received whips.
A wise, experienced man was the white-headed old man Ak-Sal. He decided to protect ordinary people and take revenge on Dujumet. He came to the neighboring aal and walked straight into the villain’s yurt.
“Old man, don’t you know my rules?” Everyone who comes here guesses my riddles. If you guess it, you beat me with a whip. If you don’t guess, you’ll try the heavy whip yourself!
— I’m listening to your riddle-task. I came to teach you a lesson, robber! - the white-headed old man Ak-Sal said boldly.
- Look what you are! Well look. Do you see that mountain over there? At the top of the mountain is a white horseman. Go ask him when and where he came from, when and where he plans to leave,” said the dujumet.
- Fine. “I’ll find out everything,” said the old man.
And he went to the mountain. And there's no one on it. The top sparkles with snow. The old man sat on a stone, smoked and returned to the Dujumet’s yurt. And people gathered near the yurt, everyone wanted to know what would happen. Dujumet came out with his favorite whip in his hands:
- Well, did you ask the rider?
“Yes, I asked,” answered the old man.
- Did he tell you everything? - asked the dujumet.
“Yes, I told you everything,” answered the old man. Dujumet suddenly became frightened and asked in a hushed voice:
- What did he say?
“The white horseman said that he came from the upper world in the fall, and is going to leave for the lower world in the spring,” answered the old man.
Everyone understood his wise answer. And they stepped towards the dujumet. He rushed into the yurt. But people pulled him out. The old man took a heavy whip and beat the villain. Avenged all the poor people he abused.
Since then, the dujumet stopped asking riddles.
