One day a teacher was in a big city and when he returned he said:

- Oh, I'm overflowing with joy, I'm overflowing with joy! It was so wonderful, sublime, in the presence of the Beloved!

Then his disciple thought: “There was the Beloved and delight; so wonderful! I have to go and see if I can find them.” He walked through the city, returned and said:

- Terrible! What a terrible world! Everyone seems ready to rip each other's throats out; that's what I saw. I felt nothing but depression, as if my entire being was being torn to pieces.

“Yes,” said the teacher. - You are right.

“But explain to me,” said the student, “why were you so delighted after you returned, and I am torn to pieces?” I can't stand it, it's terrible.

The teacher said:

“You weren’t walking at the same rhythm as I was walking through the city.”
