New skirt

There lived a husband and wife. They lived not so much richly, but simply to say – poor. The wife had one single skirt, torn and wounded, worn and worn. All day long she did nothing but put patches on it. You can't even see the skirt under the patches. The husband came home, and his wife was crying.

- Look - there's a hole in the skirt again! And there’s nothing to patch it up with. The next day, the husband used all the money he earned to buy his wife a new skirt. He brought it home and said:

- At least without dinner, but with new clothes. The wife was very happy.

The husband went to bed, and she got down to business.

The husband woke up and saw that his wife had cut the entire new skirt into pieces and put new patches on the old skirt. He gasped, and his wife said:

- Thank you, hubby, I fixed all the holes, and there are still so many pieces left, enough for a whole year.
