One king sent two envoys one after another to the queen. The first one, returning, simply conveyed the answer to the king. The other one returned and, briefly conveying the answer, began a long speech about the beauty of the lady:

“To tell the truth, sir, I saw a most beautiful woman.” Happy is he who can enjoy it!

“You vile slave,” the king interrupted him, “did you raise your shameless eyes to my wife?” It is clear that you would like to make yours the object that you have studied so closely!

The king ordered the first envoy to be called again and asked him:

-What do you think about the queen?

“Very good, of course,” replied the messenger, “for she listened to me in silence and gave a wise answer.”

- Didn’t she seem beautiful to you?

“It’s appropriate for you to look at her.” My task was to convey the words.
