There was a case when poverty brought Mushfiqi to the position of washing the dead. But the city rais persecuted him here too with his nagging. Having met him on the street, he decided to find a reason to expose Mushfiqi for his lack of piety:
- Come on, answer me! Do you read prayer? Are you fasting? Tell me, on what foundations is Islam based? Do you make sacrifices? Why haven’t you made the pilgrimage to Mecca yet?..
Mushfiqi barely had time to answer the rais who showered him with questions. And when, having brought Mushfiqi to despair, the rais asked him: “What are you reading when washing a dead person?” Mushfiqi replied:
- Quietly, in the ear of the deceased, I read: “You did well to die and get rid of the angelic questions of rais!”
