Mullian the falcon built his home high on the white eucalyptus tree of Yaraan. Here he lived apart from his tribe with his wife Mudea the Possum and his mother-in-law Mudea the Possum. Batterga, from the family of flying squirrels Baggu, lived with them. Batterga was a friend of Mullian's wife and a distant relative of the Mudea family.
Mullian the falcon was a cannibal. Therefore, he lived separately from other daens. To satisfy his passion for cannibalism, he went hunting and took a large spear, about four times larger than usual. When he found a daen hunting alone, he killed him and brought his body to his tree house. Here Mudei and Butterga cooked it, and everyone ate the meat - after all, women, like Mullian, were cannibals.
This went on for some time until many Daens were killed. Their friends decided to find out what happened to them, and followed in the footsteps of the one who disappeared last.
They reached the place where he was killed, and then followed the killer's tracks to the eucalyptus tree where Mullian's house was located. They tried to climb the tree, but it was so tall and straight that after much effort they had to give up the attempt. In despair of failure, they remembered Bibby the nuthatch, whose genus was famous for its ability to climb trees. They called two young Bibbies to help. And one of the Bibbies came to them, bringing with him his friend Murra-wanda from the family of dart rats.
Having learned what the Daens wanted from them, these famous climbers approached the eucalyptus tree and began to climb it. However, on the first night, due to the darkness, they were only able to reach the middle of the tree. Here they stopped, and in the morning they saw how Mullian flew away, and climbed further up.
Having reached Mullian's house, they waited for an opportune moment and crept inside the hut. Once inside the house and taking care not to be noticed by the women, they hid the smoldering stick in one corner. Then they quietly went downstairs, and no one knew about their visit.
During the day, Muday and Butterga heard crackling noises from time to time, looked around, but saw nothing. The hearth burned calmly, and they decided that it was the grass that had fallen into their fire that was cracking.
Meanwhile, Bibby and Murra-wanda, having gone down, found the Daens and told about their actions. Having learned that they had set fire to Mullian's house, and fearing that the tree would fall, everyone retreated some distance and began to wait. Great was their joy at the thought that they had at last outwitted their enemy. Bibby and Murra-wanda were proud that the Daens praised their valor.
After lunch Mullian returned. He left his huge spear at the entrance to the house, then went in and lay down to rest. A few minutes later he heard his large spear fall. He jumped up and put it in its place. Before he could lie down again, he heard the sound of falling again. He stood up once more and set down his spear again. As he approached the bed, a fire broke out in the corner of the hut.
Mullian called three women who were cooking food, and they rushed to help him put out the flames. But, despite all their efforts, the flames only flared up. Mullian's hand was burned. Mudei burned her feet, and Butterga was also badly burned.
Seeing that the fire could not be put out, they decided to abandon the hut and escape, but it was too late. When they wanted to climb down from the tree, the roof of the hut collapsed on them. All that was left after the fire were the charred bones of those who lived on the eucalyptus. That's all the Daens found.
But legends say that Mullian the falcon lives in the sky in the form of the morning star Mullian-ga. On one side of him is a small star, his only hand, and on the other is a large star, his wife Muday the Possum.
