Once a wanderer from India came to a village located under the Double-Headed Mountain. He listened, listened to what people were saying, and said:
- Do you want me to move Ilim Mountain to you? - We want! – the residents shouted joyfully.
- Fine. With only one condition: before this, you will feed me the best dishes for three months. Do you agree?
- We agree! – the residents shouted joyfully. Three months have passed. During this time, the wanderer grew stronger, gained weight and had a good rest. And then the day came when he had to move the mountain. All the inhabitants went with him to Ilim Mountain. A man stood at its foot, leaned his back against the stone and shouted:
– Why are you standing there like a herd of stupid sheep?! Run to the other side and push! Just help me lift the mountain onto my back!
People ran to the other side of the mountain, rested their shoulders on it and began to push. They pushed and pushed, but they couldn’t lift the mountain onto the man’s back. They returned to him tired and asked what to do next.
The man walked away from the mountain and grinned:
“Well, if you all together can’t put a mountain on my back, then I can’t help you with anything!”
He said so and left.
