One rich owner had many children. And there was also an adopted son, an orphan. This boy was not loved in the family and was offended. They were fed poorly, dressed poorly and even worse. They forced him to work from morning to evening: he looked after the reindeer, chopped wood, and carried water.
One night the owner says to him:
- Today is a moonlit, bright night. On such a night, wolves prowl the forest, looking for prey. If they see our deer, they will eat them. Go, guard the herd.
The orphan went to the mountains where the herd was. She goes and cries. I reached the hill and sat down to rest. Looks -. and the Moon is slowly going down. He got down, approached the orphan and asked:
- Why are you crying, baby?
“My life is bad,” answered the boy. And he told the Month about his life. The month thought and said:
- That's it. I'll take you with me. You will live with me, help me with whatever I need.
He extended a beam, the boy climbed onto it - and the Moon rose back to the sky.
And in the morning the owner woke up, looked for the orphan, scolded:
-Where did he go? Where did you run away to?
They searched and searched and never found the boy. But one night the Month looked into the owner’s window and said:
- Did you offend the poor orphan? Now he is fine, he lives with me. And you will still get it for your cruelty!
And misfortunes befell the evil owner: at first almost all the deer died, he went bankrupt, then the children died...
And the orphan boy lives with the Month. All nations see it on moonlit nights. The boy stands and laughs. And I saw him. Take a look and you will see too!
