Mount Modolva is the name of one peak near the Lake Cleft, in the mountains nearby. There is a cave there, the entrance to which is now blocked.
In ancient times, a certain troll lived in this cave, whose name was Modolf, and this mountain bears his name. He bewitched one woman from those places. They started living together and fell in love with each other very much. The woman gave birth, but the fetus was so large that she was unable to deliver and died from childbirth.
At night, Modolv carried her body to the church on Loznyakov Swamp - the coffin was skillfully made; one morning, when people got up, he stood in front of the church doors, and next to him lay a copper ring and a stick with runes that told what happened - and he gave the church this ring as payment for the burial.
The body was buried at the Willow Swamp church, and the ring has been there in the church door ever since. And they say about Modolv that he returned to his cave and died there of grief.
