The Celestial Empire was very grateful to Nuiva, who repaired the sky and leveled the earth. Everyone felt very good. People repopulated the river valleys. A happy life began for them. The seasons followed one after another without any disruption. Spring has become welcoming, summer has become sunny, autumn has been fruitful and winter has been well-fed, albeit cold. All you had to do was want it, and a person would have a cow or an ox. Edible plants grew in vast areas. What a man could not eat, he left at the edge of the field, and no one touched his supplies. The animals stopped being ferocious. One could fearlessly pull the tails of tigers and leopards and step on snakes. When a child was born, he was placed in a nest hanging on a tree, the wind rocked him like a cradle. There was order on the roads. People walked along them without jostling, politely letting their elders pass first.
Nüwa rejoiced to see that her countless human children were living well and that they were very grateful to her. And those who value goodness want to do something nice. And Nüwa created for people a musical instrument, sheng, from hollowed out wood and many tubes that produced sounds of different tones. Every year, as soon as the peaches and plums bloomed and the sky became cloudless, people, in the light of the moon, went out onto a flat area, which is still called the moonlight. Boys and girls put on their most beautiful outfits, stood in a circle and danced. The boys played the shané, and the girls rang their bells in time with the melody. So Nuiva made music a symbol and companion of love.
At this point, Nuiva finished her work for humanity and decided to rest. She boarded a thunder chariot, drawn by two flying Feilong dragons and a white hornless dragon, Baichi, and decorated with yellow clouds. The chariot rushed into the heavenly heights. A retinue of a countless army of spirits followed her. Nuiva rose to the sky and passed
right through the heavenly gates, appeared before the Supreme Lord - the Jade Sovereign - and told about all her achievements.
She did not flaunt her merits and did not raise her voice proudly, she said that she simply helped nature do better and faster everything that was destined for her, and she personally did so little for people that it is not worth talking about.
Having told about her deeds, Nuiva sat down at the feet of the sovereign. Since then, quietly and modestly, without boasting of her past merits, like a hermit, she has lived in the Heavenly Palace.
