There lived a grandfather and a woman. They had a hut and a piece of land. And they had neither horse nor ox. And this is such grief that you might as well harness yourself to the plow.

They somehow collected some money. Grandfather went to the fair, bought a dun skate and took it home.

On the way he meets shepherds tending oxen.

- Hello, grandfather! Where were you? - the shepherds ask.

- At the fair.

- What did you buy?

- Horse.

- Come on, grandfather, exchange the horse for an ox: we have a lot of oxen, but no horse.

The grandfather thought: an ox will also be useful on the farm.

“Okay,” he says, “let’s change.”

The grandfather gave the horse to the shepherds, took an ox for himself and leads it home.

He meets shepherds on the road who were tending sheep and rams:

- Hello, grandfather! Where were you?

- At the fair.

- What did you buy?

- Horse.

-Where is he?

- Exchanged it for an ox.

- Let's change: you give us the ox, and we give you the sheep.

- Okay: a sheep is also not superfluous on the farm. Grandfather took the ram by the horns and leads him home. On the way he meets shepherds who were herding turkeys.

- Hello, grandpa! Where were you?

- At the fair.

- What did you buy?

- Horse.

-Where is the horse?

- Exchanged it for an ox.

-Where is the ox?

- Exchanged it for a ram.

- Take a turkey from us for a ram.

- Okay: a turkey is also not superfluous on the farm. Grandfather gave the sheep to the shepherds and took the turkey himself

under his arm and moved on.

Comes to the village. And the children are playing on the street,

ride on pokers. The children ran up to him:

- Hello, grandfather! Where were you?

- At the fair.

- What did you buy?

- Horse.

-Where is the horse?

- Exchanged it for an ox.

-Where is the ox?

- Exchanged it for a ram.

-Where is the ram?

- Exchanged it for a turkey.

- Oh, grandfather, give us the turkey for the poker:

The turkey and I will play!

“Okay,” says the grandfather, “give me the poker.”

Grandfather took the poker and carried it home.

The woman found out about everything, grabbed my grandfather’s poker and started beating him. She beat and beat - the poker broke.

The fairy tale is over.
