Sufi parable from Ghazali They said that a certain woman asked al-Lays, may the Lord have mercy on him, some honey, and he rewarded her with a whole wineskin.
They told him:
“She would have been satisfied without it.”
He replied:
“She asked according to her needs, and I gave to her according to our gifts.”
For al-Lays, not a day passed without him giving alms to three hundred and sixty beggars.
