One man was a good shot and was always successful in hunting deer. One day he was lucky enough to wound a large deer, but not fatally, and he was able to escape. The hunter pursued him for a long time until a trail of blood led him to a large cave. There he met an old man who was feeding the deer, including the very deer that the hunter had wounded. The old man, looking reproachfully at the hunter, told him that it was he who had wounded so many of his deer, which he now had to treat. The hunter, not knowing what to answer, only remained guiltily silent. Then the old man advised him, if you shoot while hunting, to kill on the spot, and not to wound the animal, which then suffers, and he, the old man, has to nurse it. Then the elder sent the hunter home.
He arrived home
His wife and all his little children,
Having seen
That a man came home
Then they started crying
From the happiness that they felt,
They started crying.
Then the children came up
They came to hug their father,
And his wife
And she too.
And he,
Surprised
Said
To your children
And to the wife:
- Why are you all crying?
And his wife said to him;
- Why shouldn't we cry?
If you
Are you lost?
It's been three months now
[How] did you go hunting,
And he didn’t come.
Only now
We see your face.
We, we wondered
Aren't you already dead?
- How can you know
That I died
If I
Returned from an old man.
This is how the man who was a real deer hunter ended up.
