So she gathered the birds around her and began to show them what and how to do. First of all, she took some dirt and made a round cake.
“Ah, that’s how it’s done...” said the gray blackbird and flew away.
Since then, gray blackbirds have been making their nests this way.
Then the magpie got hold of several twigs and laid them along the edge of the cake.
“Now I understand everything,” said the blackbird and flew away.
This is how blackbirds build their nests to this day.
Then the magpie placed another mud cake on the branches.
“Everything is clear,” said the wise owl and flew away.
Since then, owls have not learned to build better nests.
And the magpie took several twigs and wrapped them around the outside of the nest.

Well, the lady magpie got hold of feathers and rags and comfortably lined the entire nest with them.

That’s how it all went: the birds listened and listened, but didn’t listen to the end and flew away one after another.
Meanwhile, Lady Magpie worked and worked, not looking at anyone.
All the birds have already flown away. And now there was only one bird left, the turtle dove. But I must tell you that this turtledove did not pay any attention to what the magpie was doing, and only repeated to no avail:
- Two are not enough, two are not enough...
Finally the magpie heard this - just as she was laying a twig across the nest - and said:
- One is enough!
But the turtledove continued to repeat:
- Two are not enough, two are not enough...
The magpie got angry and said:
- One is enough, I tell you! And the turtledove is his again:
- Two are not enough, two are not enough!
Then the magpie looked around and saw that there was no one nearby except the stupid turtle dove. The magpie became very angry and flew away. And another time I didn’t want to teach the birds how to make nests.
That is why different birds build their nests in different ways.
