From the day he was left without a tail, the Jackal knew no peace. Fear did not let him go day or night. He understood how dangerous Leo’s threats were, and, seeing no other way out, he went to the ancient elder for advice. He listened to him, promised to help and handed him a sprout of a fig tree. The jackal planted a sprout in the field, and very soon a tree grew, it turned green and blossomed. Then the tree bore fruit, and long before the harvest on the other trees had ripened, ripe figs began to fall from the magic tree.
The jackal called his brothers, who were surprised at such a miracle, and then, quarreling and quarreling, attacked the tender fruits.
“You are behaving unworthily, brothers!” - Jackal stopped them.
To moderate their greed and give everyone the opportunity to eat their share, the Jackal tied his brothers with a rope by their tails to a tree trunk, and then shook the trunk, and figs strewn the entire ground around. The jackals ate greedily, standing on a leash, each in his own place. The tailless climbed onto a nearby hill to supposedly be on guard. And suddenly he shouted at the top of his lungs:
- Dogs! Riders! They're coming here! They are already close!
The maddened jackals rushed in different directions, and their tails remained tied to the tree. The jackal was happy. His plan was a success! Now that all the jackals have lost their tails, the Lion will not be able to recognize him.
