Once upon a time there lived one very lazy young man. All day long he wandered from place to place, and nothing pleased him, he could not find pleasure in anything. What is pleasure? - he thought one day and decided to go look for him.
He left the house and after a while found himself at the foot of a high mountain that blocked his path. Then he saw an old peasant digging the ground.
“Grandfather, don’t you know what you can find pleasure in?” - the young man asked him.
“I know,” the old man answered, without interrupting his work, “but if I talk to you, I won’t be able to work.”
- I’ll do the work for you for now, and you speak, okay? - the young man suggested.
- Fine!
The young man took a shovel and began to dig the ground. The sun burned his back, his body was covered with sweat... But if you don’t work, you won’t know where to find pleasure!
And he continued his work.
And the old man sat down under a tree and began to watch the young man. Two hours passed; the old man shouted:
- Hey, guy, get some rest!
The young man threw down the shovel and sat down next to the old man in the pleasant, cool shade. The old man offered him a pouch of golden tobacco. The young man lit a cigarette.
- Oh, how good! What a pleasure! - he exclaimed involuntarily.
“That’s right,” confirmed the old man, “this is real pleasure!” If you work hard, pleasure will find you.
