Lun-mu (“Mother of the Dragon”) is an old woman who found an egg in the forest and brought it home. A strange creature hatched from the egg, which then grew up and turned out to be a dragon. The dragon stayed with the old woman and brought her good luck in all matters. One day, the emperor ordered Lung-mu to appear at court and explain how she dared to keep such a noble creature. But on the way to the palace, Lun-mu became homesick, and the dragon, realizing this, put her on his back and took her back. After her death, Lun-mu began to be revered as a goddess, because dragons never carried anyone on their backs except her.
