One father had a son who, at six or seven years old, did not want to walk on his own: he was such a quitter, God forbid. It just makes you laugh, but what can you do? The father made a stroller, put his son in it and began to drag him along, begging.
Once in one house a certain benefactor put a loaf of bread on the table and said:
- You, father, don’t you dare take the loaf. And you, son, if you can, take it, but if you can’t and don’t want to, go hungry!
My son was very hungry that day. He fidgeted for a long time in his stroller until he lowered first one leg to the floor, followed soon by the other.
“Here, thank God, at least he got out of the stroller,” the father whispered, barely audible.
- Well, rest, rest, son, after the first step, otherwise you won’t tear your belly! - the others laugh. A little later the son is already at the table.
However, some invisible force drags the loaf further and further, the son still behind him and after him, until both found themselves outside the door. In the yard, the son thought of running to catch up with the loaf, but the mischievous loaf tormented the boy so much that his back was sore. And then the loaf disappeared completely, as if it had sunk into the water.
The father was delighted and said:
- It was a kind spirit, he cured you of laziness! From that day on, the son began to walk on his own, learned to work, and eventually grew up to be a productive man.
