One peasant hunter was ready to fight; invited a man to visit him, ordered the hostess to prepare the table, and ordered the guest to sit down at the table.
He makes an excuse:
- Why are you worrying in vain, Demyan Ilyich?
Demyan Ilyich slaps him on the cheek and says:
- In someone else's house, listen to the owner! He has nothing to do, sat down at the table, treats him; he eats. The owner began to destroy a lot of bread.
The man says:
“Where are you going, Demyan Ilyich, wasting so much bread?”
Demyan Ilyich and his friend Chick.
“Don’t point,” he says, “in someone else’s house!” Do what the owner tells you to do.
The man was not happy: if he treats him, he doesn’t eat, he doesn’t listen to Demyan. He beats him and says:
- In someone else's house, listen to the owner!
At this time, out of nowhere - another kid, only in a nondescript ravine, and the guy is lively, opens the gate without asking, drives into the fence; and Demyan went out onto the porch and bowed:
- You are welcome, you are welcome! - I want to beat this one too!
The fellow is timid, takes off his hat and says:
- Sorry, Demyan Ilyich, I didn’t ask - I stopped by.
- Nothing, nothing! You are welcome to the hut.
The kid came in. The owner sits him down at the table, orders his wife to set the food, bring bread, and treats him like that! And the kid eats and eats, he doesn’t contradict. No matter how hard Demyan fought, the fellow wouldn’t contradict him in anything: he couldn’t hit him.
He sweated at the tricks, brought out a good, best dress, and said to the kid:
- Take off this, put on this!
He thinks to himself: “If he starts to deny it, I’ll beat him out.” The kid doesn't argue, he puts it on. Demyan will slip this and that; The kid still doesn't argue.
He brought out a good horse, saddled him in the best saddle, put a bridle on the good horse and said to the child:
- Get on my horse; yours is skinny! Surely he won’t contradict? The kid sat down. Demyan orders to go; he is silent, urged his horse, rode out of the fence and says:
- Goodbye, Demyan! The devil didn't push, he got in! And he left - remember what his name was: that’s all it was! Demyan looked after him, clapped his hands, and said:
- Well, apparently, I found a scythe on a stone! I'm a fool - I wanted to beat the horse, but I punched the horse! Maybe the horse with harness was worth about one and a half hundred.
