Lion and Mouse

Somehow a little Mouse fell into the clutches of the Lion.

- O king of beasts! - the Mouse squeaked. “I’m so small that you’ll hardly get enough of me.” Better have pity on me and let me go. No wonder they say: “Do a merciful act and release the caught fish into the sea. Few people may know about this, but the Creator knows everything.” So let me go for the sake of the great Allah! If you ever get into trouble, I'll come in handy.

The Lion's heart softened, although the Mouse's promise to help him out of trouble seemed ridiculous.

“Okay,” he said, “go.” And he unclenched his claws. The lion used to get into the possessions of one person and bully camels, horses and other animals there. The man got angry with Leo and planned to set a trap for him. He set a trap at the entrance to the pen and in the evenings tied a bull nearby for bait.

One night Leo came to the paddock and, at the sight of easy prey, completely forgot about caution. He rushed at the bull and fell into a trap. The Lion howled in pain and fear. The Mouse heard it and came running. “Probably this is the same Leo who took pity on me and let me go,” she thought. The Mouse gnawed the rope of the trap and let the Lion go.

This is why it is good to do good.
