There lived three brothers in the world. Two were earthly, and the third, Kuizhiy, was stupid.
After the death of their parents, the brothers decided to divide the property. Kuizhiu got two bulls.
“What should I do with the bulls?” - Kuizhiy began to think and decided to give birth to them.
He drove the bulls to the market. The road went through the forest. Kuizhiy is chasing the bulls, he hears the leaves rustling, the trees creaking. It seemed to Kuizhi that the tree was saying to him:
- Sell me the bulls - I will borrow them for a period of one year, and in a year I will return the debt to you.
Kuizhiy tied the bulls to a tree and returned home. A year passed, and Kuizhiy went to the tree to collect a debt from it.
“I came for a debt,” said Kuizhiy, approaching the tree. On this day there was no wind, the foliage did not rustle, the tree did not creak.
- Why are you silent? - Kuizhiy continued. - When they borrowed bulls, they talked a lot, but now they are silent? But I won’t give up the bulls to you, I’ll still settle accounts with you!
With these words, he hit the tree with force with an ax. And in this tree there was a treasure hidden. From the blow with the ax, gold spilled out onto the ground at Kuizhia’s feet.
He collected the gold and took it home. When it got dark, he went to the effendi and decided to take his measure and try on his gold.
The effendi was surprised - why does a poor man need a measure, where can he get gold? And he went after Kuizhiy. He looked out the window - Kuizhiy was sitting, counting gold. The cunning effendi decided to deceive the poor man. He went to him and said:
– I came to you because I want to help you. You won't be able to keep that much gold, you might even get killed because of it. It’s better to give the gold to me, I will have it safe and sound, and you will live in peace.
Then Kuizhiy hit the effendi with a measure and killed him. He threw his body into the attic.
In the morning the whole village began to look for the effendi - they could not find him anywhere. And Kuizhiy sits quietly on the street. The effendi's wife walks past him, all in tears.
- Why are you crying? – Kuizhiy asked her.
“Effendi is missing, that’s why I’m crying,” the woman answered.
“He’s not missing anything - I killed him, and he’s lying in our attic.”
The effendi's wife made a fuss. And the Kuizhia brothers, having learned what was happening, hid the effendi’s body, slaughtered the goat, skinned it and threw it into the attic.
All the inhabitants of the village came to their house.
-Where is the effendi you killed? - they ask Kuizhia.
“It’s in the attic, I’ll show you now,” he answered and climbed into the attic.
It was dark in the attic. He began to look for the dead man by touch. He felt the goat's beard and asked:
– Did Effendi have a beard?
- No!
- Did you have horns?
- No!
Kuizhiy felt the four legs of the goat.
– Did he have four legs?
- No!
“Then this is probably not your effendi,” said Kuizhiy and threw the goat from the attic.
Seeing the goat, the village residents began to say:
- Ugh, son, how did we allow the fool to deceive us?
Everyone went home.
