Kingir - iron bird
Enlight

There lived a man with an old mother and a young wife. I was hunting. One day I went hunting. Walking through the taiga, I saw Kingira the iron bird. Kingir flies, thunders: “Kingir, kingir!” He flew up to the man. He grabbed him by the head and carried him away. On the rock, in the stones, there are baby birds. Kingir brought the man to his nest, to the cubs. Kingir spoke:

- Today there will be thunder, so you, man, are on guard for my children. Don't let them die from thunder!

Kingir's house was inside a stone, in a cave. Kingir's children plucked all the man's hair and scratched his face. Kingir. I saw a cloud coming and left. Thunder approaches, thunders, a man drags the Kingir children by their wings from the mountain, puts them in the bushes, sits down, waits. Thunder came, began to thunder above them, the children of Kingir are afraid, they fall down dead.

When the thunder stopped thundering, they came to life again. The man grabbed them by the wings and dragged them into the nest, to the top of the mountain. The Kingira cubs scratch his face while playing.

So Kingir himself came, saw that his children were safe, and was delighted. He brought hares to his cubs. On the second day Kingir left again and said to the peasant:

- Today again protect my children from thunder. Kingir himself went hunting. The children again, while playing, scratch the man’s face. And he thought and thought and decided to sing. It was early, the morning was very cold. The man’s mother, although she was in the plague, heard her son’s voice. She hurriedly came out of the tent, woke up her daughter-in-law, and said:

- Listen, the voice is similar to the voice of my son, he is singing somewhere upstairs. I heard. Come out quickly and listen carefully.

The daughter-in-law came out and began to listen together. The daughter-in-law said:

- Indeed, he is. This is mine, my husband sings. The old woman said:

- Let's catch some riding deer and go to him. They caught riding reindeer, harnessed them and rode off at a fast trot.

They are already driving along the foot of the cliff. They approached and tied up their reindeer. We went on foot and climbed up the rock.

They saw that their man was messing with Kingir’s children. The women asked him:

- Why did you come here? He replied:

“Kingir grabbed me by the head and dragged me here. Go home quickly, bring me a tambourine.

The women did just that, brought the tambourine, and went home themselves. A man sat down in Kingir's house and began to beat a tambourine. It strikes like thunder. The Kingir children were frightened and fell dead. The man put all the children nearby and hid the tambourine. Kingir came and said:

- My children are already asleep.

I entered my house and a man was sitting at the door. Suddenly the man hit the tambourine. Kingir got scared, fell and died. The man went to his tent. He came home, his family saw that he had become stupid; and he became stupid because Kingir's cubs plucked his hair, wounded his head, scratched his face.
