One day a man decided to plant trees on a deserted mountainside. Not to sell wood, but only to make the mountainside green and beautiful. But the man understood that the forest would not grow immediately, but in about thirty years. Therefore, he resolutely got down to business and planted hundreds of seedlings on this mountain one spring. The years passed, the trees grew taller, and the man grew older. Looking at the growing young forest, the man felt satisfaction from the work he had once done. And then one day the man became very old and could no longer even walk. Lying in bed, on the eve of death, the man imagined, invisible to him from the window, a green forest on the mountainside. Tall thick tree trunks reaching into the blue sky... The rustling of leaves... Birds singing... Imagining all this, the man remembered that in the same way he mentally saw all this at the time when he planted young trees on the mountainside many years ago. He returned his thoughts to those distant past days. And I realized the most important thing in my life. When a person goes somewhere or strives for something, then at every moment of time, in every moment he returns from there again. As a person becomes closer to his goal, he simultaneously moves closer to himself.
