- But how can I do this if I don’t know who I am?
Lin-chi stopped talking. Everyone was wary. What answer will he give? But he didn't answer. He got down from his chair and began to make his way to the person who asked the question. Everyone watched carefully. What is he going to do? After all, he could answer from his chair! His actions were unnecessary.
Lin-chi came closer, glaring at the man, put his hand on his shoulder and said:
- Close your eyes and remember the one who asked the question.
The man closed his eyes and went inside, in search of the one who asked the question.
People waited, watching him. His face became calm, peaceful, quiet. Then Lin-chi was forced to shake him:
- Now come out and tell everyone who you are?
The man began to laugh. Then he said:
“What a wonderful way to answer questions.”
Lin-chi repeated his question:
- So who are you?
The man replied:
- I know, but I can’t answer.
