One day at the bazaar Mulla Nasreddin ran into an old friend. He was just about to get married. A friend asked Mulla if he had thought about getting married. Nasreddin replied that many years ago he decided to get married and began looking for the perfect woman.

He first went to Damascus, where he found an exceptionally beautiful woman, but soon discovered that she lacked spirituality. Then he went to Isfahan, where he met a woman of high spirituality and rare beauty, but, unfortunately, their relationship did not work out.

“And finally, in Cairo I found her,” said Mulla. “She was the ideal woman: spiritual, graceful, beautiful, charming. In a word, perfection.

- Did you marry her? - asked the friend.

“No,” answered Mulla. “Unfortunately, she was looking for the perfect man.”
