Hyena and donkey

Hyena and donkey

It was hot.

The hyena and the donkey, exhausted by thirst, met and wandered together to the river. The hyena's tongue was so dry that she could not think of anything - just to get to the water as soon as possible. She didn't even look at the donkey. And the donkey, too, was so weak from the heat that she lost all fear - she walks next to the hyena and does not seem to see that it is a hyena. So they got to the river. When the hyena had drunk enough, she wanted to eat. And two steps away from her stood a donkey, plunging her muzzle into the river water.

- Why are you muddying the waters? - the hyena said angrily. - You won't let me get drunk!

“But the water flows from you to me, and not from me to you,” said the donkey.

- How can I muddy the water you drink?

“You still dare to argue with me!” - said the hyena and bared her teeth. - Look, you'll regret this!

Then the donkey said:

- Oh hyena! Admit it, you were just planning to eat me. And you want to turn things around as if I myself am to blame for this!

And the donkey quickly ran away so as not to be seen by the hyena.
