The Arab poet Al Kosai lived in the desert. One day he came to a beautiful naba tree and made a bow and arrows from its branches.
When night fell, he went out to hunt wild donkeys. Soon he heard the clatter of hooves of an approaching herd. Al Kosai fired the first arrow. But he pulled the bowstring with such force that the arrow, piercing the body of the donkey, hit the nearest rock. Hearing the sound of wood hitting rock, Al Kosai thought he had missed. So he shot a second time, and the second time the arrow pierced the donkey's body and hit the rocks. Again Al Kosai thought he had missed. In the same way he fired a third arrow, then a fourth and a fifth, and each time he heard the same sound.
When this happened for the fifth time, Al Kosai broke his bow in rage.
